Stolen Joys

My mom and sister went to this "salon de chocolat event" and since hany el beheiry was someone who took part in that event i automatically thought that it will probably be well managed and have a high class society or in other words clean people at most. I didnt go with them... but i have asked mom to tell me how it was the next day. Sure enough i called her up to see how was it and she started narrating the story.

They went in... paid about 20LE for tickets each (even though my sister had WON those tickets at a NIle FM competition and were supposedly free).. Oh well we'll let that pass. Nothing is really for free in this country!! While they were at it she found a competition or (draw) that anyone could participate in by just filling a form and taking a number (or thats what i understood from her). The draw was sponsored by "Passionelle" a very well known joint venture egyptian-lebanese- saudi arabian chocolate company. The gifts were 50 crystal chocolate holders full of passionelle chocolates. (50 as in 50 winners). Lucky enough my moms number was pulled out in the draw. Everyone was clapping for her.. she went on stage with the other winners and a young lady had even taken her name and had a mini interview with her for her private magazine.

Then one of the organizing guys called her telling her that a Mrs. Nashwa Zaki (Office Manager of Passionelle's country manager) wanted to see her... probably to give her the gift she earned.Sure enough she met the lady and Mrs. Nashwa asked her for her winning ticket. And naturally my mom gave it to her. After 5 minutes or so nothing happened. My mom was standing right there beside the lady waiting for her prize but nothing happened.
So she tapped on her shoulder saying i didnt get my gift yet... and the lady so boldly leaned over to her and told her "You will now tell me that you lost your winning ticket!!" So my mom was taken aback!!!! "WHAT?? i just handed you the ticket" And to her surprise the prestigious office manager told her... "i took nothing from you!!"
Naturally my mom was mesmerized in disbelief... So she called the guy who called her to meet this lady and asked him in front of her " Son.. didnt you just call me and tell me that Mrs. Nashwa wants to see you to give you your prize?" and he said "yes ofcourse" Then she called on the girl who filled up her form and who congratualted her on winning and asked her the same question. And she called the girl who interviewed her and asked her the same question. All confirmed that she won and deserved one of the 50 gifts. But sure enough the very honorable Mrs. Nashwa Zaki denied it and said that she didnt get any tickets. SO the organizer went and asked Passionelle manager if someone won but lost the ticket should we give her a gift and he confirmed saying yes please do.
Again Mrs. Nashwa was asked to give my mom the gift but to no avail and then finally leaned over to my mom saying in very humiliating words something that meant "No one will listen to you and you wont get anything"

The managers son then came trying to fix the problem and decided to give mom a complimentary gift which she immedietly returned and said i dont need a complimentary gift.... i won and i earned a gift that you are stealing away from me. Take your crappy little compliment... and give it to someone who is begging for something. Not me!!"

How annoying and frustrating and disgusting should a person feel then? How unfair and injust could a human being be!!! WHY?? if she is the office manager and wants to show off around her friends and family, cant she just send some passionelle gifts to her friends any other time??? i dont understand why would she do that. And why would "passionelle" a very esteemed and well-known company hire such a thief!! This was supposed to be a fun event where everybody is happy and enjoying it but some people just cant see others happy. They have to steal their thunder... their joys... their few moments of sheer happiness. Obviously, theives are more likely to be in top management than in the poor lower standards who have an excuse to steal. i dont know what to say except "7azbeya allah wa ne3ma al wakeel"

What in the world? Are you serious? This sound like kids in a grade 6 class. Totally disgusting and classless, I agree.

even though the normal tickets actually costs LE20 as i heard,.. but well since you happen to have a radio and you happen to have a mobile that you won through then you might as well pay the double of everyone else since you would be considered the high standard rich girl!!... dont you think??? :)
